Cookies / Browser storage explained

Browser storage and cookies: what the educational pages use, what the message tool keeps and what remains under your control.

Policy date: 1 January 2026.

Cookies and similar storage

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website can ask a browser to retain and return with later requests. Local storage and session storage are separate browser mechanisms that scripts may use to retain values. Browser caching is different again: it can keep copies of files to improve loading.

What the static site code uses

The educational pages and supplied JavaScript do not set cookies, use localStorage or use sessionStorage. They do not include advertising technology, third-party analytics, tracking pixels or embedded social widgets. The mobile navigation and reveal effects operate in the current page without saving a visitor profile.

Hosting, security infrastructure or a separately provided site-level consent system may operate outside the static page code. Where such a system is present, consult its current notices and controls for details of its storage. This page does not assign names or lifetimes to cookies that the supplied code does not create.

Browser-managed information

Your browser may cache pages and images, remember form fields or restore a previous tab independently of this site’s code. Browser extensions and device services may also affect clipboard or form behaviour. Check their settings if you use a shared device or do not want entries retained.

Managing your choices

You can inspect or remove site data using your browser’s privacy or website settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent the static articles from being read. Disabling JavaScript stops the local draft tool and interactive mobile menu, but the articles and footer links remain available.

Clearing cookies does not automatically delete a downloaded text file, remove a sent email or clear a synchronised clipboard. Manage those separately through the relevant device or application controls.

Questions and changes

If storage behaviour changes, this notice should be updated to reflect the actual implementation. For questions, contact [email protected]. The Workshop Data Policy explains local draft handling and email correspondence in more detail.
